These terms apply to the pump selection tools on drumpump.com, including Find My Pump and Shop by Chemical (the "tools"). They add to our Terms of Service, which also apply. By using the tools, you agree to these terms. In these terms, "Drum Pump", "we" and "us" mean the operator of drumpump.com.

1. What the tools do

The tools help you narrow down pumps we sell for the liquid you need to move. They suggest products based on the information you enter and on published manufacturer information. They are a starting point for your own selection, not engineering, safety or legal advice, and they do not replace a qualified safety professional or your own assessment of your application.

2. Where the ratings come from

  • Chemical compatibility comes only from the pump manufacturers' own published information. Most results are pumps a manufacturer rates for the chemical in its chemical compatibility guide or chemical resistance chart. For a few everyday liquids, such as motor oil, hydraulic oil and antifreeze, Shop by Chemical also shows pumps whose manufacturer's product page says they are designed for that liquid. These are marked "Not chart-rated". We do not create our own compatibility ratings, and we do not judge compatibility from the materials a pump is made of.
  • Flammability comes from the manufacturers' information and from public chemical safety references, such as the PubChem database of the U.S. National Library of Medicine. When the information is unclear, the tools treat a liquid as flammable and only suggest pumps suited to flammable liquids, unless you tell us otherwise.
  • Product details such as sizes, flow rates and container fit come from manufacturer specifications and our product catalog.

3. Limits of the information

  • Ratings generally assume room temperature (about 72 °F / 22 °C) and the named chemical on its own, at the concentration shown.
  • Higher temperatures, different concentrations, mixtures, additives, contaminants and how often or how long a pump is used can all change compatibility.
  • When you enter more than one liquid, the results show pumps rated or designed for each liquid on its own. They are not rated for the liquids mixed together. For a blend, contact us.
  • Chemical names, trade names and CAS numbers are matched as carefully as we can, but a listed name may not exactly match your product or its formula. Always check your product's safety data sheet (SDS).
  • Manufacturers can change their products, materials and guidance. We update the tools periodically, but they may not reflect the latest changes.
  • If the tools cannot find a pump that is rated or designed for your liquid, they will not guess. They will ask you to contact us instead.

4. Your responsibilities

  • Confirm that the pump, seals, hose and fittings suit your liquid, its concentration and temperature, and how you will use them, before you buy or use them.
  • Read and follow the safety data sheet (SDS) for every liquid you pump, including its handling, ventilation and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • For flammable or combustible liquids: use equipment suited to those liquids, and ground and bond the pump, the container you pump from and the container you pump into to prevent static sparks. Follow the manufacturer's instructions, applicable codes and standards (for example NFPA 30 and NFPA 77) and your site's safety rules.
  • Make sure the people using the equipment are trained, and inspect pumps, hoses and seals regularly for wear, leaks or damage.
  • If you are unsure about anything, contact us before you order or pump.

5. No warranty

The tools and their results are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, Drum Pump makes no warranties or representations, express or implied, about the tools or their results, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Product warranties are provided only by the manufacturer and under our Terms of Service.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Drum Pump, its affiliates, suppliers and employees are not liable for any loss, damage, injury or claim arising from the use of, or reliance on, the tools or their results, including the selection or use of any product based on them. Section 17 (Limitation of Liability) of our Terms of Service also applies. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Trademarks

Brand and product names shown in the tools, such as GoatThroat and Zeeline by Milton, are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify the products and the source of their ratings.

8. Changes and governing terms

We may update the tools and these terms at any time; the date at the top shows the latest version. If these terms conflict with our Terms of Service on anything about the tools, these terms apply. Governing law (Section 22) and all other matters are covered by our Terms of Service.

9. Contact us
